Debt reduction using information on discount shopping and Co-ops.
How to simply help using discount shopping and Co-ops with the challenge of reducing debt from Debt reduction Australia tips for living debt free.
When working on reducing your debts,
you tend to naturally look for bargain buys when shopping. But where and how to find them. There are
various ways to find and make these buys. There are shops and stores that their speciality is making
it easy for the shopper to get what they need cheaply.
Liquidation style discount stores can
have some very good bargains both for price and quality. One of the best local to us also has hardware and
quality timber at discount rates. It is my favourite place to go when needing supplies for many of my projects.
The price club is a neat example of a supermarket type co-op shop come liquidation store. Then you have shops
like Sam's warehouse, Dymmies and the like. Discount chemist warehouses, we love these as they run some really
great specials, and some of them even have membership program that gives you special discount on your
prescriptions. There are even some decent discount fruit and vege places out there.
A little history on Liquidation style discount stores.
These places are all the result of an ingenious idea born of the need for the developement of many
co-operatives, where people did not know or trust each other enough or too few people or dollars to do so.
So what is a co-operative you may be asking. It is a group of people with a common desire to get the best
price and quallity and have basically the same needs, that have joined together as a group to give themselves
the buying power to achive this more efficiently and more effectively. Costing less for all involved.

The first debt reducing factor of a
co-op is that there are many people looking for many things in an organised way. Each thing or group of
things are sourced by an elected person and are regrouped accordingly if neccessary, to further save costs
when purchasing. Enabling each member to benifit maximum savings and enable more money to reduce their
debts. Once the best deals have been sourced and decided on by the members, the funds are pooled accordingly.
The member that has been chosen to represent the co-op for the deal then does their job. Another meeting
later and everyone has their co-op bought items, and pooling cycle starts again.
A co-op plan or idea for you:
It may sound like a hassle of meetings, but at least they are more useful than running all over town yourself.
Put it this way if you only had to go to the shop once say every few months or so just to cut a deal, then
make a call no more than once a week to organise the delivery and payment, wouldn't you agree the meetings
are worth the money your saving.
The beauty in the co-op.
The real beauty in the co-op is that every member can do their bit in finding that best buy for the group.
In the general co-op a group meeting can be held to work out who is in charge of or works with whome in
sourcing or finding the best deal for a specific item or group of like items. So you would essentialy end
up with a group of groups. One taking care of say the perishable foods, another the non-perishable, another
pet supplies, another clothing and so on. The rural comunity, mainly farmers, tends to be were one would
more often find co-operatives. They as a unified group, make perchases ranging from farming needs to food
and clothing. All these things can be purchased for less in larger quantities hence the larger the co-op
the greater the savings made. Some suburban and inner city communities have co-ops that buy specific things
only, such as things for the community vegetable garden. Either way is good, specific or general co-op, they
all achive financial savings for the members.
Give YOU a pay rise this year:
The simple act of making a little effort on your part at planning to join each
